Perhaps you have been considering having a website but you don’t know where to begin. Firstly you would need a web host that will give your site a web address.
Surely you have heard about Blogger and Wordpress. These are the web hosts that provide you with a web address for free, but that includes that the words “blogspot” or “wordpress” will be a part of the name of your website.
Offshore hosting, however, is not free, and it means you’re hosting your website to a far/off data center location, which provides you with benefits that just cannot be free but are at low cost and include privacy, anonymity and tax benefits since the local laws and regulations are different.
The difference that strikes the eye is that the free hosting website has advertisements you cannot control and choose, while offshore hosting not only gives you full control of the advertisements on your website but also provides you with customer support.
Quality can never come without a price, nor can free goods, so it depends on your needs and goals whether you should pay for website hosting or not. If you are planning to have a blog or portfolio website– than free hosting is a way to go. But if you wish to start a serious business, investing in your website is the smartest decision you can make, because offshore hosting, even though not free, will give your website the professional tone you want your customers to see.
In conclusion, to earn money you have to spend money, and that is why offshore hosting isn’t free, but freedom of speech is precious for the world of internet, so free hosting is there for anyone who wants to be its citizen.
